Fox News contributor Liz Peek joined Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business to react to yet another bloody weekend in Chicago — 24 shooting incidents and at least eight people killed between Friday night and Sunday — as President Trump publicly urged Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker to let the federal government step in and stop the violence.
Peek called it “really kind of unbelievable” that Chicago’s politicians allow the carnage to continue month after month, pointing to the city’s 36 homicides in a single recent month and more than 400 deaths over the past year. She challenged voters who keep returning soft-on-crime leaders to office despite the staggering human cost, while the president pressed Pritzker directly: “I, as President, can fix this fast and permanently.”
