Liz Peek: Killing Trump’s Tariffs Would “Rock the Boat” and Hurt U.S. Manufacturing

  |   By Liz Peek Staff

Fox News contributor Liz Peek discussed the pending Supreme Court decision on President Trump’s tariffs, saying she expects the Court to uphold them since it has generally supported executive power in such cases. However, she noted that even if the tariffs were struck down, the administration could use other legal mechanisms to reimpose similar trade measures.

Peek argued that the tariffs have been effective tools for the president — helping to pressure adversaries like Russia and China, encourage domestic manufacturing, and attract foreign investment to the U.S. She warned that overturning them would be disruptive and potentially require businesses to refund “hundreds of billions of dollars” in tariff-related costs, creating economic chaos.

She emphasized that the broader goal of reshoring U.S. manufacturing is succeeding, as companies are investing heavily in American production, and that maintaining these policies is vital for long-term economic strength.
