Liz Peek: Mamdani’s Oct. 7 statement is a ‘disgraceful message’ to Jewish New Yorkers

Fox News contributors Liz Peek and Joe Concha responded on Fox Business to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s statement marking three years since the October 7 Hamas attack. The statement said the suffering “did not begin nor end that day” and pointed to “the Israeli government’s devastating ongoing genocide in Gaza.”

Peek called the statement “an absolutely disgraceful message from the mayor” and said the mayor “is sympathetic to terrorism, to Islamic terrorism.” She recalled the October 7 attack, which she said involved killing, raping and torturing 1,200 innocent Israelis, and said the mayor’s words were a disappointment to the nearly one million Jews who live in New York City.

Joe Concha said the statement “was designed to gaslight the Jewish community.” He noted that it never used the words “Jew” or “Jews” or “hostage,” and said the omission was “all by design.” Concha also said Jewish voters who backed Mamdani should by now have buyer’s remorse.

Peek contrasted the statement with President Trump’s remarks on the anniversary, which called it “a horrible tragedy.” She said Trump “had exactly the right thing to say” and that Mamdani “might have mentioned that there were 46 Americans killed on that day by Hamas terrorists.” She also argued that Hamas has “blood on their hands,” and that the deaths in Gaza probably would not have happened had the hostages been released right away.
