Epstein Furor may Finally Bury Clintons, at Last

Among other things, L’affaire Epstein shows just how irrelevant Bill and Hillary Clinton have become. If President Trump is indeed mentioned “in the files” as Pam Bondi supposedly has reported, and if there is more to his association with the disgraced pedophile than has been previously disclosed, surely Democrats would have spilled that information long ago.

Unless… Hillary and Bill begged them not to. We know this for a fact: Bill Clinton is not only allegedly mentioned in those records, he is a star player. The WSJ reported that Trump penned a note for Epstein’s birthday album; so did Bill. It has been alleged (and denied by Clinton) that the former president visited Epstein’s island multiple times; there is no indication that Trump, who has admitted to flying on the infamous Lolita Express with his family, ever dropped in on that infamous resort.

Up until very recently, the leadership of the Democratic Party would presumably have listened to one of their own. Bill has been one of America’s most popular former presidents, thanks largely to measures Republicans forced him to take, like welfare reform, tough-on-crime laws and budget austerity. He can thank Newt Gingrich for “persuading” him to move to the middle and, unlike today’s Democrats, listen to voters.

Hillary, of course, was the party’s standard-bearer in 2016. She lost to Donald Trump, in one of our country’s greatest political upsets, but she and Democrats generally are happy to blame misogyny, Bernie Sanders, James Comey and of course Russian interference for her loss – not the fact that she was an epically unpopular candidate whom voters neither trusted nor liked. Or, that she ran an arrogant and poor campaign.

Today, Hillary is over. In a survey done last fall, she had slid down the list of “most popular Democrats”, falling behind Barack Obama, Kamala Harris and even Bernie Sanders. Bill Clinton has dropped even farther.

Her last books have flopped, a 2019 play based on her and Bill called “Hillary and Clinton” closed early due to underwhelming ticket sales, and a 2018 join speaking tour with Bill also came up short and was eventually cancelled.

And all that happened years ago, way beyond Americans’ attention span. Sure, Hillary continues to pound Trump on social media, but her alarms about authoritarianism and policies seem tired. Her support of Kathy Hochul’s fight to remove phones from schools seems opportunistic for both parties. CNN and other loyalists haul in the former Secretary of State to pontificate on Trump’s “mistakes” on foreign policy, but her legacy is threadbare to put it mildly. Benghazi? “What difference does it make?”

And, of course, Hillary continues to extol the virtues of the Clinton Foundation, which lost its mojo after she was defeated in 2016, as donors realized they would not be rewarded by the occupant of the Oval Office.

Not surprisingly, a search of her X feed reveals no mention of Jeffrey Epstein.

Meanwhile, the Me Too generation probably didn’t warm to Bill’s transgressions with Monica Lewinsky, or to allegations from Juanita Broaddrick, Paula Jones et al, that Bill had sexually assaulted them. Nor did Hillary win many fans with her attacks on those women and her disgraceful dismissal of the charges leveled against her hubby.

The last thing the Clinton brand needs is more documentation of Bill’s involvement with Epstein. My guess – Hillary is still agitating to quell those revelations and up until very recently Democrats have obliged. Now, Hakeem Jeffries, Ro Khanna, Pramila Jayapal and other (younger) House Dems are demanding exposure of all Epstein-related materials. Notably, Nancy Pelosi, longtime Clinton colleague, has not weighed in. Chuck Schumer, another forever Clinton associate, wants a closed-door briefing on the Epstein material for senators. Why closed door, senator?

The truth will out, presumably, hastened by the releasing of the Epstein files. We will learn why the billionaire pedophile had a portrait of Bill Clinton wearing a blue dress (like Monica’s) and red high heels hanging prominently in his town house. (Here’s the clip to see this weird picture) And we will hear more about Bill Clinton’s disgusting sex life. That will be the end of the Clintons.
